West Sumatra’s Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) deemed that the rampant spread of LGBTI is caused by society’s permissive behavior. “People tend to be apathetic when they witness this phenomenon as long as the perpetrator is not their relatives. This attitude continues to thrive the LGBTI movement,” said Gusrizal Gazahar West Sumatra’s MUI Chairman today, April 24. Furthermore, Gusrizal grouped the people he considers as those who do the LGBT practices into three categories; those who view LGBT as an ideology, the LGBTI ‘victims’, and the ‘potential victims’.
